Isenhower Cellars was kind enough to send us some bottles of their delicious wine for tasting. We gathered with snacks and got to work! (I should probably add parenthesis around that "work", huh?)
Oh such a delicious Cab Franc! We have mainly had this wine blended in Bordeauxs, so we were excited to try the varietal alone again. Casey immediately thought of tomatoes, and we tossed around pairing it with chicken or a Bruschetta. We all agreed the pairing with this wine would benefit from having a nice, strong herb flavor.
At the tasting, you can enjoy this wine with our Ratatouille.
This wine has a nice spicy, black pepper and blackberry flavor to us. Malbec is one of my favorite grapes, and this wine is a really lovely one. It has such a smooth flavor; we considered salmon and mushrooms as pairing well with it.But, we thought a tasty spicy, meat dish would really shine next to this one.
At the tasting, a delicious carne guisada will be paired with this wine.
This is a great syrah. It was a hearty wine with strawberry and cherry flavors to us, and Casey got a little bit of cinnamon in there. We thought is would pair well with dark and cured meats and deep, rich sauces.
At the tasting, you can enjoy with wine with a Moroccan lamb pie and a spiced fig pie.
